Putting out FIRES!

Posted: September 3, 2010 in preparations

I am sure this first blog entry is similar to others new to the blogging world. We are winging it which is going to be good training for the next chapter in our lives. We are moving in less than two months to Arequipa, Peru to start language training for 3 months and then we are headed to Cali, Colombia for The Extreme Colombia Project http://www.extremenazarene.org/Colombia.aspx. We have so much to do to prepare and so little time. Our current mode of operation is fire fighting. We mean putting out the biggest fire/task with the shortest deadline and then moving on to the next. Here is a list of fires currently burning: set up a blog  (ssshhhhhh!!! – sound of the fire extinguisher), get our funding going by looking for people to partner with us in ministry, Vincent is patiently (no choice) waiting for the city to approve the building permits to build a garage in our backyard for storage for our things while we are gone, selling vehicles (anyone???), writing lease for those renting our house, doing presentation to our church on our last mission trip to Peru (yes it was with Extreme and yes we caught the fire, hence all the fires we have burning now). As you can see our prayer needs are great and could use more fire extinguishers too. We are off to the fire truck, until later… listen for the sirens.
